MAYA SITE OF COPAN (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE)  

The ancient Maya ruins of Copan, the cultural pride of Honduras, area UNESCO World Her itage Site that has delighted visitors for years. Discovered in 1570, the ruins of Copán, one of the most important sites of the Mayan civilization, were not excavated until the 19th century.
